Best Week Ever!!
So much to say, such little blog space! I’ll just elaborate x 1000 on what Janelle said on her space lol.
Day 1 – Arrived at Bianca’s at 11am, waited for everyone who was travelling with us and set off in 4 different cars (one of which was from Nicole’s house). When we arrived in Sorrento I didn’t know what to expect of the house and everything. It was bloody awesome. I want to live there… or pick up the house and the beach and move it closer to Melbourne… or something. We chose our rooms and settled in nicely. Then everyone except Janelle, Anna, Amy & I went down to the beach which is literally at the end of the street! We just sat around reading Cleo (“Wit Woo I look Fab!”) and when everyone returned we watched the ultimate schoolies movie – Blurred. Jenna and Sophie then arrived. Now let me tell you, after 6pm on a Monday Sorrento is dead! Rach and I went cruising and all we saw were two guys playing cricket. We found a nice park though! We finished the day by watching Hocus Pocus (“Ok that’s great… go have sex now” – Sophie) and bed.
Day 2 – The big shop for food and alcohol! Tuesday was kinda crazy, people were coming and going heaps to go shopping or cruising (like me, Rach and Bianca who ended up back at that park for like 2 hours) or going back to Melbourne or showering (hehe) or at the beach and stuff. In the evening we had the most functional dinner I think I’ve ever had. I’ve never heard so many “please”s and “thank you”s from any of us in my life. Well done to the BBQ girls too! Janelle made us Midori Splices… yummy! Spent the night much as the one before, watching The Real Cancun (Simple Plan’s in it… YAY!), reading magazines (Girls who Don’t swallow lol… who’d have thought it was about bulimia) , having blown up condoms thrown at us and bed.
Day 3 – Began the day wit ha discussion about terrorism… not your typical schoolies topic but we’re a weird group! We had a visit from a baby magpie who was christened Fredrick. He was sooooo cuuuute! Rach, Janelle, Sophie, Bianca and I went down to Rye to check it out, do some shopping and hit the beach (not literally hit it, I left that up to Rocky). We met our first actually nice locals at this really cool food place lol. Best gelati ever might I add! We then headed on to our Sorrento beach where Janelle and I made a discovery – you know those movies where the couples make out on the shore? It is impossible if the tide is coming in! I know that sounds wrong lol but we found out when we were trying to just sit there! That evening was the ‘drunken evening’. Everyone except Rach, Janelle, Sophie, Nicole and I were drunk from playing some game with my uno cards… lets just say I have some interesting videos :P Bed late.
Day 4 – Had a major nail polish session on the decking outside before Anna, Amy, Rach, Sophie and I went shopping in Sorrento. Three of us in a row bought the same brand of thongs (or flip flops whatev) just in different colours. We also had to wait for ages for a lady to come back to a store. Back in 10 minutes my ass. (“Me mad gelato” “Fresh ju”). Then we headed back to Rye to do more shopping. We went back to the nice food place too. (“I don’t know if its cute or weird that you got a vegemite roll Steph” – Amy). I love the beach in Rye but its not as private as our one in Sorrento. A bunch of guys we know had arrived in Rye and invited everyone over. Sophie, Rach & I stayed home and were woken at 2am when the others came home without keys…
Day 5 – pretty slow morning. Wrote some postcards, Sophie left and most of us just stayed around relaxing. Then we split up to go to beaches or just sit around bumming. Rach, Janelle & I went to Sorrento beach, Kate, Kate, Bianca and Sarah went to Rye and Anna, Amy and Nicole stayed home. Janelle and I continued our game of trying to defeat the waves. We eve have rules! Rule #1 – Don’t Drown. Rule #2 Don’t Drown. Spent the afternoon wandering around the house aimlessly whilst we waited for the boys to arrive wit the alleged BBQ. Ha! They arrived empty handed! Still annoyed lol. All that was available to us girls was pizza and I don’t eat it. So Rach and I had a bright idea to go for a walk in the dark and get food… yeah great… til it started to rain and storm. The lightening looked cool but come on… we had to get someone back at the house to pick us up! (Thanks Farm Boy!) Oh but we got revenge. That night the guys underwent makeovers! Dan had his nails done, Steve got nails and eye makeup, Perna looked very pretty with a full face of makeup and Rocky was turned into a Benji Madden look a like! Verrry funny. Bed lateish
Day 6 – Guys arrived early for that BBQ. Nick D made some weird egg bread thingies that I didn’t venture to try and Edgar also arrived. Rach, Bianca, Nicole, Edgar, Sarah and I left the others at home and went down to our Sorrento beach for a while, then Sarah, Bibi and Edgar went to the back beach. This managed to take up the entire afternoon and we went out for dinner. I was then christened Leprecorn (or however you wanna spell it).. thanks Edgar… much appreciated… when we returned Sarah did some tabletop dancing and we sat around sharing lilos, pillows, couches, and blankets. Steve wore high heels, the guys read Cleo and Cosmo, Dan painted my nails, and there was a war over the green blanket between Dan and Anna, Rach, Rocky & I. There was also a big drama which I wont go into but it ended with Rach, Rocky, Dan & I moving Rach’s car and having a nice walk back… even if me and Rocky nearly kept walking towards the beach instead of home. Those stars were so pretty and distracting! Rach had a record of staying up til 3am, I’m so proud!
Day 7 – Did nothing all day. Listened to Dane Cook CDs, once on the Discman and Kate had no idea what Rach and I were laughing at lol. Rach was sick and slept a lot and Nicole left. Nick D stayed over so Dave came over to collect him. FARM BOY!!! Hows your tractor? Gone to harvest the grain? Lol. Damn those yellow skittles. Oh and Nick had his hair straightened haha. Anyway. We had takeout cos we were so damn lazy for dinner, Edgar left and the other guys returned to their second home (i.e our house). That night Perna started his love affair with the tea towel/table cloth blanket, Dan created his pet Oscar who was made of shoes, Rachel was sick, Janelle cemented her role as Mother Hen, we bagged the crap out of Jack cos he was mean and we said farewell to Farm Boy. We were down to 8 girls and it felt like we were such a small group even thought we weren’t. Bed very very late.
Day 8 – Many awoke to the sound of Sarah banging on the doors telling everyone to get up so we could go for a picnic! It was a good picnic too! Thanks Sarah for making lunch! How’s you little friend? Everyone went to the beach in Sorrento and Sarah and Bianca created Todd the Sand Man. He’s so hot right now :D We spent the afternoon/early evening starting the clean up, watching TV and Sarah and her helpers made a great dinner :) After dinner you’ll never guess what happened! That’s right the guys came over! *shock horror* lol. We watched Viva la Bam (the other guy is cuter!), Oscar was rebuilt, Sarah chases people around udner a blanket and a lot of people were wrecked and went to bed. However for our last night there Anna, Amy, Sarah, Rocky, Perna and myself successfully pulled an all nighter. We had breakfast at 4am (thank you Bibi!), Uno stacko amused a few people for a while and Janelle finally went to bed. Best idea ever – going to the beach at 5.30am :D It was cold but sooo much fun (even if Rocky started attacking the sand, pretended to throw me off the jetty and dropped my camera) :D
Day 9 – Continued from Day 8 for those of us who stayed up. When we got back from the beach Bianca went to bed and everyone but me went to Maccas for breakfast. When they returned we waited for everyone else to wake up (or be owken up in Janelle’s case… TERRACOTTA PIE) and the cleaning began. Second best idea ever – get the guys to do the cleaning! After the was done we ate the remaining food in the fridge and relaxed. Its amazing what’s fun when you’ve had no sleep. A hackie sack and a stubbie holder kept Sarah, Amy, Perna & I entertained for a good hour and a half lol. Then it was time to go. It was hugs all round and we said good bye.
And now we’re home and it just isn’t the same! I had to download the Terracotta pie song! Its so weird walking into a room and there’s no one there! Its trippy and I miss it!
So that’s my long round up of schoolies. Thank all you guys for making it the most memorable week ever :) I love you all soooo much :D
